I noticed after I posted that when I hovered my mouse over the video window "Javascript:;" showed at the bottom left of the page. So I downloaded the Java plugin. It still didn't work but since booting my computer this morning it now working. Whether Java had anything to do with it I don't know. It was a silly video anyway it was more about why it wouldn't play.
opera://media-internals/ is useful thanks.
