I have downloaded the flash player module libpepflashplayer.so. The help screen for installing this, http://www.opera.com/docs/linux/plugins/install/#flash, states I should copy this file to /usr/lib/opera/plugins or to $HOME/.local/lib/opera/plugins. Neither directory exists. The first location does not have /usr/lib/opera and the second does not have $HOME/.local/lib. Creating the recommended paths and copying the module to those directories has no affect. How do I get Opera to see the module?

The simplest way to install the PEPPER version of the plugin for the Opera 39, is as follows: open a terminal window, and execute the below command:

sudo aptitude install pepperflashplugin-nonfree browser-plugin-freshplayer-pepperflash
