  1. Install the "Platform Update for Windows 7
    ": click "Download", tick the checkbox on the left of "Windows6.1-KB2670838-x86.msu", and click "Next". You must restart your PC, after you install this update.
  2. Install the Adobe Flash Player PPAPI plugin for Opera and Chromium (or if you have it already installed, then go to opera:plugins, and make sure it's enabled) - it should be used by default on the above website, if your OS has no native support for the H264 codec.

Important note: please make sure, that your read the "Compatibility issues..." part, before you install the update.

I guess the operating system makes a big difference because I've tried everything and nothing works.

It would be my guess too. It wouldn't be the first time I see someone with Windows 7 having issues with videos.
