I have already written to Google Product Forums about this.

The root of the problem is that Chromium developers are removing GDI support from Chrome and their modification has already reached the beta version. This means we will not be able to disable DirectWrite ever (flag #disable-direct-write has already been removed in 52.0.2743.49).

Please keep the Disable DirectWrite as an option in Opera and don't remove GDI support.
