<![CDATA[Power went out, Opera no longer loads my bookmarks or Speed Dial folders]]>So my power randomly went out. After it was back on, I turned on my computer to find out that Opera won't load my bookmarks or Speed Dial folders. But for some reason, it still loads my active tabs.

Please tell me how I can retrieve my old bookmarks and Speed Dial folders. They were both years old.

If you don't have a backup then I'm afraid there's nothing to be done.

Opera just wipes out the file

I don't know what Sync is, so it probably wasn't enabled.

But that "bookmarks.bak" is definitely the right file, it was created the day I started using Opera.

I copied the bookmarks.bak file before it was rewritten

And have you tried to rename it to 'bookmarks' to see what happens?

BTW, was Sync enabled?

I copied the bookmarks.bak file before it was rewritten. It is 16 MBs, so it likely has all my stuff in it.
