It says 'free to download' but so do thousands of shareware programs.

Is it really private or does this new chrome engine mean we're tracked, harvested for so-called anonymous data?

I'm still using 12.16. Will there be any real advantage if I download the latest as a separate install to try?

Any real advantage in 64-bit over 32?

Thanks.

It all boils down to your trust into Opera - if you trust that they follow their policy, then your data is not shared. If you don't trust them - well, you can't trust your ISP (or your router) either.
I personally think that Opera is not covertly selling your surfing info

What about advantage over O12 - new Opera is more compatible with variety of sites. At the same time it is somewhat slower (rendering, not scripting) and much less configurable. If you have no problems with site layout and speed with O12, then you probably don't need new Opera - I had problems and now I'm using combo of O10 and newest dev version. On previus PC I had about four versions of Opera in use at the same time - each one had something good to offer

64bit Opera (on Windows) is first dev version only and probably no one can comment on its advantages over 32bit yet. Due to the process model of Chrome/Opera engine (each tab is separate process) 32 bit is not very limiting.
