Using Opera 33

Just this week my bookmarks are accessible, from the toolbar to the bookmarks folders and speed dial, then yesterday all of a sudden I noticed that my speed dials were missing. I didn't mind it, but today when I need to access a bookmark on the toolbar, there's no bookmarks. All my bookmarks are gone. I can't find it, I checked the profile folder can't find the bookmarks file. I have a ton bookmarks, now I can't see any of them. How do I restore it back.

Opera 33, Windows 7.

Thanks!

Thanks man!

What I did was I right clicked on both bookmarks and bookmarks.bak files and 2 properties windows appeared one for each file. On the "Previous Versions" tab(for both windows) there's an option for me to restore to an earlier date, which is Nov 17, I clicked restore for both and restarted Opera and that's it, all my old bookmarks are restored.

Here's a screenshot(just in case somebody encounter this issue)

I did manage to see the bookmarks on the \AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable
but the only thing there are the two most recent bookmarks that I bookmarked awhile ago :|
Did it get ovewritten? I mean my old bookmarks?

I'm also seeing the bookmarks.bak but like the bookmarks file, it still shows the most recent bookmarks, not the old ones :awww:

I also saw bookmarksExtras it's a 7mb file do you think that's it? I can't seem to open it.

Using Opera 33 on Fri, 20 Nov 2015 13:23:09 GMT

The bookmarks file should certainly be there.
Even if the original got trashed somehow, the browser should have generated a new one.
Look again in the profile\data folder. The file is just called "bookmarks" with no file extension.
If it is very small in size it will be a newly generated empty database.
If that is the case your only hope of restoring the bookmarks is from a backup or using an undelete program to recover the original file if it hasn't been over-written. There may be a "bookmarks.bak" file in the folder that may not be too out of date. Copy it and the "bookmarks" file out of the folder, re-name it "bookmarks", and see what that brings back.
Good luck!
