<![CDATA[Where is the search function?]]>After many years, I thought that I should give Opera a try again, particularly after Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge failed me, so I recently installed it. There are many things I like about Opera, but I don't find a function where I can search for words in the text of the websites that I enter. The settings in general are very limited, so I am suspecting that my download/installation might have been incomplete.

I appreciate helpful comments and suggestions. 🙂

You can also click on the "Opera" in the upper left, click on page, and select Find in Page to do the same thing. How about some more that I find handy?

CTRL + L highlights the address bar and you can type/search for new pages immediately.

Double click a word to highlight it all - great for right click > search.

CTRL + Z will undo a mistake in text entry boxes like this comment.

CTRL + N is a new window.

CTRL + T is a new tab.

CTRL + SHIFT + N is a new private tab (history is wiped immediately when closing).

CTRL + R reloads the page.

CTRL + D bookmarks a page.

Those are the shortcuts that I use most frequently. There are many more but those are the ones that I prefer and tend to use on a daily basis.

I loved that little box, but it is gone in v. 32, along with the rest of the configurable toolbar. Ctrl+F, of course, is standard and not hard to use. Except that it disappears from one tab to the next, instead of just sitting up there, friendly and always usable. If the toolbar is ever reinstated, I hope that this will return.
