<![CDATA[.wav file]]>Greetings. I just switched to Opera yesterday. Very impressed and delighted. You knew there would be a BUT though. Yes, there is one web application that I use incessantly which sends a small .wav file down the line from time to time. I could do without the notification but instead of playing it arrives in the downloads notification in the upper right corner of the screen and sits there until I dispatch it. It interrupts the flow. I would ideally like to be able to activate Quicktime or ANOTHER plugin so that it plays or find some way to turn off the download of the file so that the interruption doesn't occur. If anybody out there has an idea I'd really appreciate it. GL

Interesting. These work for me as well. It's like this: The site I was referring to is a Scrabble site and you need to have an annual subscription to play there. Thus I could send you a link but you wouldn't get in. When you use all seven of your letters for one word a little file called hall.wav plays off and you hear applause. I don't really care about hearing the applause, that's not the point. The file is not played, instead Opera downloads it and they end up in my Download folder and pile up there. Safari, Firefox, Chrome, all just play the file. They don't download it. That's a bit of a clearer description of what is going on.

You can test it here: http://www.jplayer.org/HTML5.Audio.Support/ (where it says "Wave (wav)" in the table, there are 2 tests for HTML5 audio which both work fine here).

I haven't checked in for a while, thus the time-lapse. No, sorry, no link. It's just a very small .wav file and because it can't play they collect in my download folder and at some point I delete eight or nine of them.
