<![CDATA[Opera Mini 12 beta 1 for Android]]>Hi all,

Last week, we released Opera Mini 11 with a lot of improvements. We hope you like it.

Today, we released the first beta of Opera Mini 12 and focused more on under-the-hood fixes and improvements. But, we also included a few visible changes that you have asked for:

  • The wait-for-Wi-Fi download dialog provides an option to remember your preference
  • When a download finishes, Opera Mini shows a notification on the bottom of the screen and gives you the option to open the file directly
  • Context menus on pages look more like other Android apps

Made it so much faster to switch tabs than these over-designed full screen transitions.

The mini-switcher kinda helps, expect it goes bye bye on portrait orientation.

I really don't get the modern Opera. You guys had a winning app. You could just as easily have flattened the existing UI to keep with the trend, and that was it. But no, you guys had to go design trend crazy.

And you can't even get it to behave properly at different display resolutions...

great update so far...a little bug i noticed:
when saving a page and subsequently editing/re-naming the page after saving --> then exiting OM and going back in, it appears that my edits/modifications were not saved.

not a big deal but appears as a bug, latest beta 12...

by the way, we now can save a file in a different name. This functionality is not available in 7.6.4.

That was an headache!!!!!

In High Mode when I browse Facebook & if I have to upload a photo, or upload a timeline photo or attach a photo in the facebook bug report, Opera Mini takes me to the Camera app. But I have to go in the Gallery app. There has no options to go in the Gallery. But it is ok in Extreme Mode. Only High Mode has this problem. Would you please fix this in the next update of Opera Mini?
Also need a feature that can downlod any file by multi threading connection to accelerate the downloading speed.
