I used to write guiding text into the status bar of the browser using the 'window.defaultStatus=""' JavaScript command. In Opera 31 there is no status bar displayed any more. How can I restore this feature?</p>

I kept using Opera 12.17 till now because the status bar was still working as in all older versions. Also local file access could be restored by changing the safety policy settings. I think at present there are only a few possibilities left to make changes as formerly.</p>
