Hi, I'm fairly new to linux and although my flash is working in firefox, it does not work so well in Opera. I did install the adobe-flashplugin-installer package and it allowed me to watch a few videos on youtube, but it was very pick and choose on which videos it played. so I reverted back to installing the normal flash-plugin.

I don't know how to install downloaded packages from the adobe site (e.g. YUM, .rpm or tarball).

If someone would be kind to help me out, I would be very grateful. If a solution is found of a duplicate thread, please direct me there.

Many thanks.

The video/audio that didn't work on certain sites are now working with this package, you just have to find it.

ffmpeg.org should be of some help. Or you can just search for the package yourself.

I get a funny bug, YouTube and most sites play videos fine but once in awhile I run into a site that won't play their video and it posts this message:
"ERROR loading media:
File could not be played"

The thing is that HTML5 is the replacement for flash. You can't install flash to get HTML5 videos working. The problem right now is the integration with the program ffmpeg.

sudo apt-get install pepperflashplugin-nonfree

That works perfect in Opera. After you have installed, all you have to do is restart Opera.
