<![CDATA[Missing buttons, bars, strange Main menu...]]>Hi people :).
I am not new at computers but I am quite new at Opera browser. I was surprised to see how fast was it, I like it so much, so I decided to use to for my job purposes. But.. I am quite confused with strange Help and missing some buttons..
My main page doesn't look like it's showed on help page: http://prntscr.com/7rm524
In my case it looks like this: http://prntscr.com/7rm6au.
There is no left hand side bar with bookmarks, history and other optional buttons.
There is no bar on the lower part of the screen, with Opera Turbo icon, Zoom slider, etc..
Also, I tried to change this or that.
In "Help" it says I should click on big red O button to get main menu. In my case it looks like this:

On right hand side you can see how Main menu should look (by Opera help), and on left side you can see how it really looks in my case. Quite different.. On this screen shot you can see an explanation in Opera Help, how to get traditional Menu bar - by clicking on "Show Menu Bar" on the main menu. I don't see it in Main menu at all..
I tried to change Style, in Help it says - "click on Page>Style.."

What am I doing wrong? Is my Opera installation corrupted? Any ideas?

The real difference between Opera and the third browser is less contrast in the inactive tabs, Opera's text looks lighter.

Here you can see tabs in 3 popular browsers, opera is amongst them.

They look almost identical to me on my screen in that screen shot. Really its just the background that seem different. I don't know what to tell you. I can't help you with that problem.

'group' families of tabs

As far as I know there are no plans to add tab stacking to the new versions of Opera.

Anyway, it seems to me that you would be more happy with Opera 12. Or maybe Vivaldi. Try them out.

I know Zoom was relocated, just there is no Zoom slider anymore. At least there is keyboard shortcut to it.

History button is nice to have on the screen. I understand they try to make it look minimalistic, but sometimes 'less is more' is not great way to make something useful.

My screen is 23/24 inches so it's almost the same as yours.

I think we can agree that tab titles are easier to read at other browsers. Imagine working 8 hours and having to search for different tab at least 80-100 times per hour. I tried to do it with Opera and I got bad headache certainly caused by my eyes struggling to recognize titles of the tabs. It was not the case with other 2 browsers. I think it would be great if we could choose color of font/background in tab titles or if Opera offered few different 'styles' so we could use anything but factory preset tab title font/background.

I have another question. Is it possible to open few instances on Opera (yes, it is handy sometimes, too). It is possible in other browsers and it was way for me to 'group' families of tabs to easier work with those.

Zoom was relocated to the Opera menu.

History can be found in the Opera menu. You can also access it via the Speed Dial.

no classic Main menu option

That is gone.

no Sidebar...

Opera 30's Sidebar is for extensions. It can be opened using the Ctrl+Shift+S shortcut but you have to have extensions installed to get any use out of it. Its quite handy though.

What actually bothers me the most for now is kind of thin and pale font for inactive tabs.

You're screenshot looks find to me, but I'm on a 23 inch widescreen monitor.

I was trying to find solutions on Internet so I got to obsolete help file..
Does it mean that new version of Opera has been cut to basics (no Zoom slider, no History button, no classic Main menu option, no Sidebar...)? Is there possibility to tweak anything about how it looks except to change Zoom? As I can see, "Themes" are just background images and settings for text color for Speed Dial entry names, so editing is pretty limited.
What actually bothers me the most for now is kind of thin and pale font for inactive tabs. I need to use at least 7-8 tabs at job so though my monitor is not small I still cannot see well titles of inactive tabs (only title of 1 active tab is more or less readable). I use ClearType in windows. It doesn't help in this case..

Lower window is active Opera window, upper (behind) is inactive Firefox. It's obvious where Tab titles are easier to read..
Is there any way for user to change it in Opera, to make it better?
Sorry if those questions look silly, I just think that more options and kind of "tweakability" wouldn't be such a bad idea.
