I know it is impossible to change in the options menu, but someone here or in the comments of an earlier version of Opera (Opera 26?) gave me a code to paste somewhere in the Opera folder in Program Files and it worked splendidly. However, I just reformatted my computer and I of course forgot to secure that file, so now I am back on scratch.

Does anyone know how to help me? I know many people have this issue.

All credits go to Leonardo Gomes for figuring this out:

Remember to close Opera before editing the code. AppData you will only find if you have hidden folders not hidden.

This is a pain in the butt, I cannot understand why Opera have not fixed this. It can't take much work to implement it.

I don't know what needs to be changed but that will get you started if you want to fiddle with it yourself until someone more knowledgeable comes along.
