On previous versions there was a settings option "Empty cache on exit", but has this option seems to have disappeared in this version. How can I activate it ?

I don't want to keep my history for privacy reasons. Can this feature be done within Opera without relying on an extension. I try to minimize extensions to not affect the browser performance. Firefox has an option to not keep history or limit to a number of days.

I'm not aware that earlier versions of the current Opera (based on a Chromium engine) had that feature. Maybe you're thinking of Opera Presto?

Anyway, the Chrome extension Click & Clean (which you can use in Opera now) has a setting that will clear cache when you exit the browser.

Now it has a lot of other features that you might like, or might not. You might look for something that just clears cache if you don't have use for the other features in Click & Clean.
