Well, let's talk.

I've had these before, now again...
I currently have some 3+ GB free space on the main disk (+ enough on the other logical one). However, Windows prompted me today it ran out of virtual memory. Like 4 apps were (still are) active: the AV (of course), the Explorer (sure, and a folder and a plain format doc), my Foobar, and my Google Chrome.
Well, I guess the last one must be demanding enough. Still the question stays: where do I find this - pagefile, right? No intentions to screw with it, but I'd like to know - if the system needs certain space for that, WHERE AND HOW MUCH?
Means WHERE should I find that disk space that I'd better keep at certain capacity - and which capacity should it be? Depending on active processes/apps? How much space should I keep free of <s>junk</s>stuff and where?

No. I didn't want to mess with it.

Can it be a special area on the physical HD?

Usually the pagefile is located in the system's drive and hidden.

I mean 2+ GB is needed - I have 3 -- what's wrong?

In the past people used to recommend that you had a free disk space at least equal the double of your amount of ram. Don't know if something like this is still valid.

can one possibly help it?

It says how much and it says "hard drive" there, it doesn't tell where. I mean 2+ GB is needed - I have 3 -- what's wrong?
Can it be a special area on the physical HD? If it's not C nor D - then what poops it and can one possibly help it?
