In previous Opera versions, you could Shift+middle click (mouse) to get the option to "start panning" when you pressed middle click. But nothing happens now.

How do you pan in Linux?

Is there also a way to enable smooth scrolling in Linux?

Install this extension to get smooth scrolling: https://addons.opera.com/extensions/details/scroller/

Note:

You have to reload every page you had open before you installed the extension, in order to get it to work.

On some pages extensions doesn't work, like on internal pages and on addons.opera.com.
