<![CDATA[Opera Mini 8 for Windows Phone]]>Hi All!

I would like to announce that we have released a new version of Opera Mini for Windows Phone. And, as some of you might have noticed already, we removed the ‘beta’ label from it. After the previous beta release, we saw a massive drop in crashes reported from your devices - they’re a ¼ of the previous level, so the product is quite stable - calling it a beta doesn’t quite fit.

But, on to the good stuff!

On to the details, here is the changelog, compared to the last beta:

* [WP-798] - Downloading - mp4 file is now recognized as known file type.
* [WP-806] - Downloading with known file type no longer gets stuck on the finish when Opera is installed on SD card.
* [WP-879] - The default image quality is now medium.
* [WP-968] - Only the remove option is left on long tap on a group in history.
* [WP-969] - After removing all items in history, the empty icon should turn up.
* [WP-979] - It is no longer necessary to press back twice to return from saved page to the Speed Dial.
* [WP-990] - Clicking back while a page is loading no longer results in a strange browser state.
* [WP-995] - Sizes and spacings in the intro have been adjusted.
* [WP-996] - The missing space on history entries has been fixed.
* [WP-1011] - T stop button works.
* [WP-1014] - Clicking on a minimized address bar shows the full version.
* [WP-1015] - The back button cancels text selection.
* [WP-1017] - The “select text” option works on links.
* [WP-1018] - Link feedback no longer stops working after a while.
* [WP-1020] - History items are no longer visible on the suggestion list after clearing history.
* [WP-1029] - The page title is visible on a closed top bar with a light theme.
* [WP-1076] - The data-savings line has been changed to #45bf55.
* [WP-1083] - A crash on third-party licenses has been fixed.
* [WP-1085] - “edit speed dial” now saves
* [WP-1101] - On pin to start, the badge now displays.
* [WP-1102] - On pin to start, an option to unpin has been added.
* [WP-1104] - On pin to start, live tiles are now in accordance with the specification.
* [WP-1113] - On pint to start: All URL parameters are now stored in a live tile.
* [WP-1114] - Japanese font issues have been fixed.
* [WP-1115] - CLR_EXCEPTION_System.InvalidOperationException has been addressed.
* [WP-1121] - The small [g] logo in the address bar at browser start has been fixed.
* [WP-1140] - The animation after adding a Speed Dial entry has been fixed.
* [WP-1154] - The fonts problem after updating to beta 4 has been fixed.
* [WP-1160] - An incorrect element is no longer activated after focusing on a textbox and scrolling down.
* [WP-1165] - The pin to start option is now enabled by default.

In general:

  • We’ve added an option to the ‘+’ menu in the address bar, so you can pin pages to your start screen.
  • We’ve increased a bit font sizes on default settings.
  • We have tweaked the UI in various places.
  • The back button behavior is now more consistent within our browser.
  • We’ve also fixed another batch of crashes.

Thats my favorite part of Opera which made me part of them for so many years. That along with the speed dial problem and saved pages were the once which differenciated from other browsers but all those are gone now and im back to my Nokia E6 which has a opera installed with all needed features. Sad i got to know abt this only after buying a windows 8.1 mobile 😞

-Improved surf
-Private tabs
-Background themes
-Load images option
-Quick scrool option

And many I couldn't see. Now I can call this version beta instead of alpha. It still consumes too much CPU and CPU overheats.
There is still no default search engine option. Bing isn't there yet which I use. UI needs a makeup. As an Opera fanfor years, its good to see Opera becomes useful day by day.

I bought HTC M9 and guys - Opera on Android (Android itself aswell) it's a differnet world. Simply workng, syncing with PC and again - basically its doing job - loading for me web pages fast etc. WinPhone its like third world comparing to Android.
Good luck with Opera on WinPhone but you need a lot of luck...

Could you share your client id? We'll try to find what's wrong. You can find that value at the bottom of settings page.

goood morning happy till now with opera mini stable version

pl clarify when we should expect the book mark sycronisation

  1. opera mini sometimes gets exit by otself when we open few website

  2. pl include exit button to completely close opera application

  3. pl include full screen option to make page viewable completely

  4. opera mini needs even font stability certain website have small and certain have very big fonts

opera mini is very fast browser then any other browser even faster then uc as i have seen opera does load page but uc cant

sir we are just waiting for book mark sycronisation so we are in position to use our book mark

In Opera Mini 8 beta 3 you introduced the following change: [WP-585] Address bar should be minimized during scrolling down

This auto-hide feature hides or shows top-bottom bar irritatingly during browsing when I try to scroll the screen back up. Address and bottom bar should stay static when scrolling up or down repeatedly.
I can't use the Opera Mini anymore. It looks like those nasty pop-up ads. How can I disable this auto-minimize feature?

Add a setting to the preferences to disable auto-minimizing. Can the Opera do this?

I mostly use the mobile InoReader site and that shouldn't be that big. Loads fine in IE but takes more than 15 seconds for each request on Mini (if it loads at all).

Sorry but this might be fine in the middle of nowhere but it shouldn't be like this over 4G or WiFi.
