<![CDATA[Opera Mini 8 beta 3 for Windows Phone]]>Hello All!

Today we are updating our Opera Mini for Windows Phone. Here is what happened lately in our team:

  • [WP-217] Improve text selection UI
  • [WP-582] Address bar animations are choppy and are not consistent with mockups
  • [WP-585] Address bar should be minimized during scrolling down
  • [WP-896] History - Expanding animation is no longer smooth and nice
  • [WP-918] Download dialogs react on theme's color change
  • [WP-920] Edit Saved Page dialog
  • [WP-924] Crash during adding page to saved pages
  • [WP-935] Wrong suggestions order
  • [WP-944] Support downloads with reachability detection
  • [WP-946] File not found while removing bookmark causes crash
  • [WP-960] Crash when launching the browser with 2-tab session
  • [WP-971] Opera stops decoding tiles and eventually freezes permanently
  • [WP-975] Address bar should be visible during loading
  • [WP-1030] Lower part of address bar not responding to touch
  • [WP-1032] Text selection does not work properly on HiDPI
  • [WP-1036] Crash when opening image
  • [WP-1062] Speed dial page miraculously disappears

So, to sum up, you should now have a bit bigger viewport as both address and action bar will hide. You can also now install Opera on SD card. Text selection was greatly improved, there are some minor UI tweaks and we fiddled a bit with Tamil font, but you need to say how it ended up. We also need your opinion on everything else 🙂 As always, please leave your findings here or report them via 'report issue' option in settings.

As for known issues... there is a crash when you access 3rd party page and scrolling performance might gone a bit wrong on some devices when bars are hiding. Please remember, this product is still a beta.

Everytime I try to download something (picture, podcast, ...) an try to save it on my Nokia 929 I receive an error message: "download failed" and nothing happens. Very frustrating. I reported this several times, but nothing changes. With the UC browser no problem.

So again i was forced to use Surfy since its just working.

There are probably a small misunderstanding . Other browsers load this page, Opera does not, at all...

But others crash, Opera doesn't, that is a win, right? 🙂

No... joking aside, we'll of course look into it, but looking at the desktop page design, it might be quite hard with our architecture, where content is 'rendered' on server side.

Please add option to disable images completely!!!

How hard can it be to add "OFF" to existing image control options and it would mean a lot for people who are on limited data plan.

after beta 2 sir we are not able to book mark synchronization so that why i have asked when we will get book mark sycronisation as beta 1 had but from beta 2 it is not available

Ok, I see what you're on about. Bookmarks as a feature are available from beta 1. Bookmarks sync was never introduced to any WP 8.x version. We're working on being compatible with other Opera browsers that can sync, so please be patient. This is not a trivial task to resolve.

My personal test for browser stability etc. its Battlelog page (PC version, not mobile). Most browsers crashing soon or a later , Opera still don't even loading this website

i have installled new version i would like to have few things from u

sir u say u can view full screen view how is that possible as i have seen no such option

the fonts are small and we need to make it big as it is too small to read

3)the hindi font makes some hindiwebsite to crash

transition of hiding menu and address bar is not smooth.

scrolling is bit more jerky now.

font size is so small in all the three govern size settings. so please increase font size.

apart from swiping back and fwd u could put back and fwd keys on menu bar also along with stop and reload button too.

text wrap function needed.

that's all needed so far now.

now UI in settings and menu is smooth. Tamil font support u have given is too good. text selection UI is awesome..
