I just missing few features with workspaces that would be crucial for me to use this browser comfortably. I have 'Retain tabs from previous session' and 'Display the start page first' enabled, but is not helps me, because Opera launch in recently used workspace with lots of tabs.

Let me explain what I mean:
Generally after open Opera I want to see my homepage only in default 'Home Workspace'. I wish 'Home Workspace' workspace always been clean after launch Opera, but I want my tabs from previous session in other workspaces.

Summary:
I missing something like 'Home workspace'. There should be options like: 'Always launch Opera in Home Workspace' and 'Close all tabs in 'Home Workspace' after quit Opera. These are just my suggestions, it could be named and implemented differently of course.

Some idea is 'set as Main Workspace' or 'Clean all tabs on close browser' checkbox in workspaces context menu, after clicking three dots in specific workspace.

However, loading it directly doesn't do anything. You probably need to pass some specific command-line parameters to it to get it to display.

Now opera starts nearly in 1 sec, however post UI rendering the address bar is still frozen for nearly 30 seconds.

I suspect there are some additional components or services being loaded within the UI service framework, which is causing this lag.

Since Opera uses some technology from Chrome, are there any options that can be passed via command-line to the module(s). I am perfectly fine if it disables bookmarks, video playing capabilities etc.

Would be grateful if the more experienced folks share what further optimizations / options are available that can address the 'UI freeze' issue. Any pointers ?

Thanks for your time.

warm regards
Present start up options are good themselves, but we just need to be able to choose different start up options for each workspace.

Let's say I have a main workspace I use for most spontaneous and random stuff. I would probably keep my new blank page start option for that.

I also have a workspace for web developement projects that I'm concurrently running. I want all of the tabs on that workspace from the last session to automatically open so I can continue working on them directly.

I have just another workspace for frequented domains I look up information in (MDN, Youtube etc.) so I want to have their main pages load on start up so that I can start searching in them directly.

All start up options for these are present in opera, yet I can choose only one and that will apply to all workspaces. So a separate start up option for every workspace (if preferred of course) would be a nice enhancement.

I dont know if out-of-focus workspaces consume noticable resources, but if so, it could be set up so that each workspace starts up with their setting when they are opened for the first time in the relevant window.
