Now, if you have an audio/volume/eq extension installed at the URL opera://extensions, it might not work for the sidebar, which could cause the difference. If that's the case though, the sidebar would be the original, non-enhanced sound.

I guess you could test with "Use graphics acceleration when available" off at the URL opera://settings/system to see if that fixes it.

This has resulted in the menu dropping down and closing the entire browser because X is a shortcut in the menu for eXit.

This is ridiculous. And to have no way to turn it off or assign it to a different (Out of the way and unused) button is a horrendous flaw by both the damage it can do and how absurdly easy it would be to fix. I am peeved and extremely disappointed in Opera for allowing this to be a problem for years and causing me to lose over an hour of painstaking, creative work that I can't get back.

Either fix it, change it, or forward this message to somebody who can. Absolutely idiotic that this is still an issue. I don't care about your excuses or reasons for it existing or "countermeasures" that require a secondary key press so it doesn't activate (Which requires the Alt key to be intentionally pressed in the first place), just fix this glaring mistake of a "feature" or continue losing users over it, myself included.

I recently migrated from another browser where cmd+click (or ctrl+click in Windows) was "open link in new tab and select it" and cmd+shift+click (or ctrl+shift+click in Windows) was "open link in new tab but don't select it". I'm used to this way to browse, and I don't want to unlearn what I've known for years and learn a new behaviour.

I can't find a setting to change this behaviour. Is there something I'm missing or an extension that will do this for me?

Thanks in advance.
