Hello. I've come across this problem for the first time when I tried to use prime video. I could not logg into the website, because it was looping on some screenshot about function that is not aviable in my region. When I contacted Amazon's support they said that this is the VPN problem and I should disable it. Even though I did disable VPN earlier.
Next time I tried to make an account in Ikea, and the same thing happend. I got error that said they flagged me as a bot because of my VPN, which was disabled for a long time.
What can I do? Clear cache files or cookies?

Opera GX occasionally fails to receive cookies from school sites

When I try to login to my school site, specifically the part that has the school material, I sometimes get an error message that says that there is a problem with the browser receiving cookies. This only started after a recent update to Opera GX.

I use a feature in Firefox that allows a whitelist of sites to retain cookies and site data for when quitting. It's nice, for example, to not have to log in to Gmail every time I restart my computer/browser... yet at the same time have random websites I visit to read articles, etc. have their cookies and site data cleared out.

Opera seems to only allow "Clear cookies and site data when you quit Opera" with no such whitelist, so I either have to blow everything away or deal with everything building up (then having to cherry pick what to delete under "See all site data and permissions".

The convenience of not having to log in again is the main reason for this, but some websites also store useful site data a user would want to retain such as an a search or navigation history or a preference stored in the browser. Having an all-or-nothing scenario for this with Opera might make someone choose Firefox or another browser that supports this feature over Opera.

Yes, it worked! Thank you very much!

I had just one entry there and this was the first ever Opera browser on this computer, so it is kind of surprising how this happened. But I am super glad that it works now, logging in to all accounts (Google, Opera, Github, Gitlab and tons of others) every time I had to restart Opera or reboot the computer was supper annoying.

Thanks! This advice should make it to some official FAQ.

Gmail does not load until I clean the cookies. But it keeps happening every time! How to prevent it?

@burnout426 I don't know what helped, but it worked!!!

The standalone version worked fine... Then, in the Opera that I used to use, I deactivated all Extensions.

And the Gmail standard view worked!!! But now, I reactivated all the Extensions again, and is still working '-' So I know where the problem is, but it's not affecting me anymore...

If Gmail stops working again, I'll know what to do... And it's easier than cleaning the cookies...

Twitter gives me a "Something went wrong. Try to reload." error message on a clean install of Opera and Opera GX

You can hit ctrl + shift + j to load the error console to see if there are any errors for Twitter. Maybe one of the error messages will reveal something.

In the developer tools, you can switch to the network tab, check "disable cache", and hit ctrl + r to reload the twitter page to test if the network log shows any errors.

Also in the developer tools, you can hit the 3 dots at the top right, goto "more tools", choose "network conditions", turn of the use of the default user agent and then set Opera to identify as Chrome or Firefox. Then, ctrl + r to reload the page again to test if that helps.

You can also test with Opera's VPN on to test if that makes a difference.
