Did this after Ubuntu 16.04 upgraded to chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-ex 67.0.3396.62 and all videos seem to play well on Opera v54.

However one strange thing that remains is, on some sites videos will not play when using New Private Window. I get out of New Private Window and then those same videos now play fine. Go back into New Private Window and again those videos refuse to play, saying Flash needs to be enabled! Try to enable Flash but nothing happens. Any idea why this happens?

Rozwiązanie.

uwaga, dla szukających rozwiązania na linux mint 20, wykonaj następujące kroki:
w terminalu wpisz:
sudo apt install zstd
pozwoli to na rozpakowanie archiwum ze strony: https://repo.herecura.eu/herecura/x86_64/
ja sciągnąłem paczkę z rozszerzenie zst właśnie - bodajże https://repo.herecura.eu/herecura/x86_64/opera-beta-ffmpeg-codecs-85.0.4183.48-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
nastepnie rozpakowałem archiwum komendą: unzstd nazwa-archiwum.zst
potem usunąłem plik libffmpeg.so z lokalizacji /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera (sudo rm /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/libffmpeg.so)
a potem jak kolega powyżej:
sudo cp lokalizacja-rozpakowanego-archiwum/opera-beta-ffmpeg-codecs-85.0.4183.48-1-x86_64.pkg/usr/lib/opera-beta/lib_extra/libffmpeg.so /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera
