@bigbighill can you let me know what phone you have, android version and operator. I'll reach out to someone at our Chinese office and ask for help with testing.
I reintall google service package and login successfully, but not too unstable.
Short answer no. If they would've been synced (version coming soon) this wouldn't be a problem. The only option right now would've been to have a rooted phone and done some superuser commandline magic before you uninstalled it.
@emoller thank you for the reply. This is most important for me, just to know that I'll not spend a traffic for nothing.
Anyway, "Discover" is still like a unwanted tail. Advanced users prefer to manage not to be managed.
Android browsers can't have all your tabs active at the same time. There's not enough CPU power (which also has to be minimalized to save battery) and RAM. When background tabs are reloaded, they won't be downloaded again, but read from your device flash memory.
@bigbighill like noted above Off-Road mode in Opera 28 is using the Mini technology. Off-Road mode in Opera Beta has been using the Turbo technology for quite some time now. As usual what's in the beta channel are features we plan to roll out to final, but we never comment on when that will happen.
What I'd like to see in a future version is the ability to actually change the 'desktop' user-agent string, as we used to be able to using opera:config in Opera Classic as even with the desktop user agent selected from settings, I'm still getting mobile versions of pages. Oh, and being able to change font size (or set a minimum - again possible in Classic) would be splendid too.. 🙂
@joshnesh88 that is a different behavior than closing the tabs though. What you see is a android running low on memory and killing off processes it feels are unnecessary... background tabs fall into that category. We're working hard on reducing memory usage though. Texture compression and other changes using this tech will make it into Opera for Android over the next couple of releases.
Hey @sagrid, managed to reproduce your bug this morning. It was a bit tricky to figure out the exact steps required but I've nailed it down now. Will fix this for 28, thanks for the report.
Good suggestions. If you're shopping for something small(er than a chromium browser), don't forget to check out the new mini beta it's looking like a really nice product.
