I don't know why, but Tidy Sidebar messes up tabs order when restarting... And I wan't it in the same window! But anyway, yes, I tried it and that is exactly what I'd like to have in Opera, apart that it is in a separated pop-up window and minimum width is around 288px plus wasted pixels for borders which makes it too big. Opera can't be maximized and so on...
What are your settings for startup? I remember some people complaining that Opera isn't remembering last state if the setting is different than "continue from last time".
I updated Opera beta 25 to Ver.25.1614.31. When I closed the tab of some video website (ex. YouTube, Dailymotion, Twitcasting ) at first time, Opera crashed after about six or seven seconds. But after second time, Opera did not crash. I use Opera beta 25.0.1614.35 now. At this version, Opera didn't crash after second time, too.
I am not sure what happens technically, but Opera Dev grabs the previous session from 12x and I assume saves the session when it is closed. On opening 12x the previous session is corrupted and sites no longer display as they did. I then have to reload a saved session to correct the error.
You can add the Chromium Wheel Smooth Scroller extension in the Chrome Web Store. It works great. Just have to tinker with it to get it just right but it is worth it.
