Is there an official guide of how to play Netflix on Linux using the Opera browser.

I read an announcement that said the new Opera has built in support for Netflix under Linux.

Environment is:

Ubuntu 16.04
Opera version 44.0.2510.857

Thanks in advance for anyone who can provide steps that work or a link to steps that works.

Also, if there isn't support for Netflix yet, that information would be helpful also. I can stop looking for now and check back in some months.

You may need to install some codecs, but Opera should include widevine. See threads about H.264 as far as the codecs.

If netflix requires widevine (package chromium-widevine) and not the usual chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-* ones, you are out of luck since ubuntu does not package chromium-widevine at all.
